It's that time of year...

'Tis the season...I love this time of year. We adorned our t-shirts and sunglasses to go get our tree on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. In order to save a few bucks, we opted for Home Depot for our tree this year. We paid $39.97 for a 6 foot tree. It was the first tree that we saw.

Here we are, tree strapped the Jeep, and one happy couple. We're off to watch the ELF and decorate - our tradition.

Later that night, I sat with the tree and watched a little television.

Merry Christmas!

Golden Gate Bridge

I'm always looking for the next best photo of my favorite landmark - the Golden Gate Bridge. Here are a couple of drive-by shots as I was on my way to the wine country last weekend.

I like how the color really shows off in the nighttime sky.

Here are the results of our first pumpkin carving together.

John McCain with fangs and a smiley face!
Can you guess who carved which pumpkin?

Sunflower

My first sunflower began blossoming in the middle of October. I was so proud of this little seedling surviving the sandy soil in the Sunset. This photo makes the blossom look like it's waiting for the right moment to surprise the world.

Eggie

I love weekend mornings for the following reasons
  • no alarm clock, unless I'm running with the girls
  • KFOG 10 @ 10 - week in review
  • People Magazine
  • Home brewed coffee
  • Eggs made-to-order with a smile

Late Summertime in SF

It's that time of year, when the sun sets and it feels like the start of school. The roads are more crowded on the way to work in the morning. But the upside is all of the live music in town. Over the last few weeks, Frank and I attended a few fun events.
Here's a few from the Power to the Peaceful Festival where we saw Spearhead and Ziggy Marley. It was an incredible day!

Earlier in the summer, we went to Stern Grove's Festival for the Hawaiian event with Mom and Dad. Check out the view from our seats.

Moraga and 35th - what a great place this has been. We've done a bit of dcecorating and straightening up around the house for 2008. We're excited to have our guests arrive soon!

The first photo is of our terrace which contains lights strung across and some plants. Currently, it's been raining so hard that we really can't enjoy the terrace now.

The second and third photos are my latest decorating project. I took an old calendar of Paris and cut out the nicest of the 14 images. I purchased 9 frames that looked somewhat antique, and cut the images to size. I chose to fill the frame with the entire image. I think its a nice alternative to a headboard. Let's just hope the "big one" doesn't hit while our guests are sleeping there.

The final photo is of the current state of the backyard. Having gone out there this afternoon, I'm in for a real weekend treat of getting that backyard in shape. In the back left corner, is a cherry blossom tree. What I thought was stick weeds in the middle turns out to be a rose bush. There is a concrete slab which will soon get a fresh coat of paint. And I'm going to do something about all the clover and grass.

Welcome Springtime...Welcome!
